How to find Balinshoe Castle

The starting point would either be Dundee, Perth or Aberdeen (or thereabouts), the Castle is near Forfar which is on the A90 Dundee to Aberdeen road.
As you pass Forfar, you should turn off onto the A926 for Kirriemuir, immediately passing through Padanaram.
Once through Padanaram, you should take the second turning on the right, towards Balinshoe farm. Once you have past the farm you should quickly come to the "tower" marked on this map. NB this is a 1:50,000 map and the blue grid square is one kilometer.
