Margaret Dean first woman Lord Lieutenant of Fife (17/6/99)

Council member Margaret Dean is to be the new Lord Lieutenant of Fife, the Queen's official representative in the County! (More to come in the Skirmisher).

No place for the Standard Bearer (6 May 1999).

Scotland has elected a new Parliament for the first time since the Union in 1707. On 1 July 1999, powers will devolve from Westminster to the new Parliament. However the Earl of Dundee will not be at the opening ceremony bearing the Scottish Standard - too old fashioned for New Labour - boo!

Douglas Scrimgeour (our vice chairman) will be the Moderator of the United Free Church of Scotland's Assembly June 1999- see Press Release for details ... www.ufcos.org.uk/pressa.htm
